A group began meeting in 1999 with a shared desire to help families navigate systems such as the school, hospital, and other medical providers, as they developed the best life for their child with autism.
Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services (HCDDS) is the founding member of RAAC. Bev Smith who worked for HCDDS initially led the charge of bringing together stakeholders from key systems to help enhance communication and services for people with autism.
The first RAAC coordinator was hired in August of 2000.
RAAC Celebrated 20 years of service to the Southwest Ohio autism community in March of 2020.
